Lately, I have been attempting to use Steemit services such as DTube and DSound. But, my experience has been frustrating. Some of the video and audio posts will load and play, others play only partially, and yet others do not load at all. The thing is, I can't tell what is causing the problem. I don't know if it is a firewall problem, a server problem, browser problem, or an IPFS problem.

It's definitely not the speed of my connection. I have redundant connections at 100 Mbps.

The experience makes me hesitant to post videos or podcast episodes. IPFS sort of works like P2P systems. So, if there is no original file on somebody's computer, then there is no P2P going to happen.

I want to be supportive of the decentralized web. However, these types of problems are unacceptable, especially if they are competing against commercial ventures.

I am hoping that with the development of Filecoin that there will be more hosts available to store audio and video, assuming this is why I am having problems loading content.

I think that the vision of a decentralized web is the right direction. However, it needs to become more robust and reliable. I realize that part of it requires participation and investment.
