I read the Silo series of book a couple of years ago or more. I don't recall how I stumbled upon the first book on my Kindle. It was a pretty good story. However, it got better and better as I kept reading additional books. Before I knew it, I had read the entire series. The first season of Silo has ended. I am excited for what is to come.
Just like this season has ended with Juliette going outside, the book ends in the same cliffhanger. There is potential for this show to go for several seasons based on the books. Each book takes place in the same world. But like Foundation, the story requires the audience to travel in time to learn things that will matter in the future. You start to unravel the mysteries of the Silo over many generations.
I was excited to learn that there would be a show based on the Silo book series. I must say that I am not disappointed. There are a few things with which the producers take creative license. But it doesn't affect the story too much.
Something I would have loved seeing was the community coming together to help Juliette before her walk outside. Instead, there is a reference of "They're good in Supply".
Thinking back, I had as many questions as watchers of this season have. What's going to happen to Juliette? What happened to the outside world? This show reminds me of watching Game of Thrones after having read the books. Knowing the end doesn't really matter. It's the telling of the story that makes it so enjoyable. I don't think you need to read the books to enjoy the show in the coming seasons. Everything comes together in the end.
