I decided to give my account a boost with some purchased Hive. My short-term goal is to reach 2000 HP. Earnings from posts and curation have been fairly good. Powered down Steem has been coming in every week. I will definitely reach 2000 HP. I just couldn't wait. So I bought some Hive on Blocktrades to get there sooner.

I think, perhaps, I may make it my intermediate goal to reach 5000 HP. I have the means to buy hive regularly. Let's see. 3000 Hive at 0.2586 equals $775.80 in today's price. OK, that's quite a purchase. Although, I could probably reach the goal with less money by posting and curating more. Fortunately, the higher your stake the easier it gets to earn.

I am still short of 2000 HP. However, I'm super close. With my next power down of Steem, I should go past 2000. This is kind of exciting.

I have been buying and accumulating other crypto these past few months. I think I'll take a pause and turn my attention to Hive. Hive has its built-in inflation price. However, what is more important is that there is some element of control. If I put forth the effort to post and curate, I could potentially earn a higher return. Along with that, how many people can I directly help with my efforts?

Many people talk about helping the poor. But, they only go so far as lamenting. Hive gives us an opportunity to help others for whom being a part of this community provides an income that is life sustaining.

Tarazkp recently posted some similar thinking.

This got me to thinking. I could really make a difference in peoples lives. Perhaps I will never visit Africa, India, South America, or Asia. But, Hive reaches those areas. And through Hive, I can impact the lives of people who need a little boost. I didn't add Europe, Canada, or Mexico because I plan to visit those. Dropping tourist dollars will make a difference for them.

Of course, there is some selfish incentive in this. By making my account bigger, I have more to gain. However, at the same time, having more means that I will have more to give. I had held back from investing too much into Steem, which is now Hive. That reluctance carried over. However, I now find myself motivated to put more time and money into Hive to actually make an impact for people around the world. I think tarazkp sparked something in me to put my time and money where my keyboard is. It's easy to say you want to help others. Here is my chance to actually do it.
