Today I fell into the same routine of administrative work and driving. COVID-19 is impacting my circles of influence, so I am having to start implementing more stringent disinfection routines for my staff. This involved finding a neutral sanitizer that can be misted over wide areas to sanitize high traffic areas quickly.
Neutral sanitizer is called that because it is neither acidic nor basic. This is important because metal surfaces and furniture fabrics can be damaged by corrosive cleaners. I confirmed that our current neutral sanitizer is approved for COVID-19 disinfection.
The next problem is that the sanitizer is an irritant in aerosol. We are modifying our daily cleaning so that we are using saturated microfiber rather than sprayed to ensure surfaces get sufficient dwell time with the sanitizer. Many quaternary disinfectants require the surface to remain wet with the cleaner for ten minutes to be effective. This presents challenges to cleaning times.
In other words, there was much on my mind today. Although, to be fair, I could have zoned out walking at the park rather than watching YouTube.
