A few days back I posted that I was renewing my commitment to Steem. This was driven by my exploration of Minds as an alternative. I like Minds. However, Minds has limited upside. I still visit Minds for social reasons, not for content creation.
Since that commitment renewal day, I have been posting, commenting, and upvoting things that I like. Although I could be indiscriminate with my selections, it doesn’t seem right. So, here we are seven days later. I am starting to see the rewards roll in. This is something that I had not experienced in the past. Lacking commitment, I would post once every few days. It was not very exciting.
My consistent engagement with the community this past week has started to show me what is possible. The rewards are not massive. However, even with their small size, over time this builds up the snowball.
It is exciting to check my wallet to see if there are more rewards to be claimed. Even if it’s just a few pennies here and there, it is so much more than when I first signed up in September.
Even more exciting is that I am finding other people on Steem who create great content that is entertaining or through provoking. Sometimes both. I am starting to recognize names. It is nice to hang out where you know people and they know you. I may barely be registering on the radar. In time, I expect to make new friends. When that happens, it will no longer be an effort to interact. It will just be hanging out with friends.
