Yesterday morning, the kitten, Luna, got out of the house as we were leaving for work. When I returned around noon, she was up on the tree. We tried what we could to get her down, except she was too high and out of reach.
I consulted with a friend. He suggested that one never sees dead cats on trees. They eventually climb down. We left her overnight. Temperatures were in the 50F range. By this morning, she had climbed down within reach. I climbed up a ladder and grabbed her. She thanked me with some good scratches.
We fed her and gave her water. Luna has been sleeping most of the day. This is not normal for her. Most likely she is exhausted from the stress, the lack of sleep, and from the shivering.
